Little moments of care after your shower

The minutes after a shower can be a chance to put the day aside and notice how your body feels. Looking after yourself does not need a long list of steps. Start with appropriate cleansing, moisture and products that feel comfortable on your skin.

Begin in the shower

For dry skin, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends warm rather than hot water, limiting showers to around 5–10 minutes and choosing a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. Longer showers and vigorous scrubbing do not necessarily mean better care.

Notice how your skin feels after rinsing. If it feels tight or uncomfortable, review the water temperature, time spent washing and cleanser you use rather than washing or scrubbing again.

Pat gently, then moisturise

Use a clean towel to pat rather than rub. Apply moisturiser while the skin is still damp to help retain moisture. This is general skin care guidance, not a test result for a CHUEN product.

Follow the label for the amount and areas of application. Spread gently; vigorous massage or multiple layers are not necessary to make the routine worthwhile.

A short routine you can actually keep

  1. Keep essentials nearby. Place a clean towel and your moisturiser within reach, away from heat and direct sunlight.
  2. Notice your skin. Check where it feels dry or tight, and whether any areas are irritated.
  3. Follow the intended use. A body cream should not be used around the eyes simply because its texture resembles another cream.
  4. Take a moment. Put your phone down, relax your shoulders and return to the next activity without rushing.
  5. Leave things ready. Close lids securely and keep tube openings and jars clean.

Choose CHUEN for the right step

Gentle Care Soap is a face and body cleanser that must be rinsed off. Calming & Moisturizing Cream is a face and body moisturiser used according to its label.

Soothing Cream is a portable body cream. The brand describes its delicate dok peeb scent and cooling feel. It is an optional choice for people who enjoy that scent and feel during an everyday pause. You do not need to use all three products in one routine.

What if your skin is sensitive to fragrance?

Enjoying a scent and finding a formula suitable for your skin are different questions. If you have reacted to fragrance or botanical ingredients, check the ingredient list before use. AAD’s dry-skin guidance favours fragrance-free products, so a scented formula should not be assumed suitable for everyone.

When starting a new product, try a small area as directed by the manufacturer and avoid introducing several products at once. Stop use if a reaction occurs and seek medical advice if it does not improve.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need several creams after a shower?

No. Start with a product that meets your needs and is practical to use consistently. Fewer new products can make it easier to notice what your skin is responding to.

Can Soothing Cream replace a face moisturiser?

Follow the application areas on each label. The information used for this article describes Soothing Cream for the body, while Calming & Moisturizing Cream is described for face and body.

How long should this routine take?

There is no fixed duration. Choose steps you can manage without making them a burden. Consistency and comfort matter more than the number of steps.

Your routine does not have to be perfect every day. A brief pause to notice your skin and choose what suits it is a useful place to begin.
